Dear Boys and Girls:

Isn't it pleasant to be getting ready some little gift for those you love and who love you? It isn't hard work is it? And the more you love them the more you want to give them and the happier it makes you to share with them. So you see loving is giving. Several of my boys and girls have been telling me of little gifts they are making for mother, sister and friends (you must not forget  father boys and girls) and want these gifts put on the tree. Now some of the children who were not here last Christmas may wonder what all this "to do" is about.  What are we getting ready for, you and me?  Christmas.  Yes?  What little baby was born nearly two thousand years ago?  Whose birthday are we keeping to-day? Yes! Jesus Birthday.  Jesus Christ our blessed Lord.  Now we have been so busy getting let us talk about some about things given us.  Put your hand on your heart and you will feel it throub, throub! who gave it that power.  God your Heavenly father gave it, the God of love gave us life.

Long long before our time he looked on His beautiful earth, on His disobedient, selfish, yet sorrowful and dying children and because He loved all humanity, He gave something dear to Him.  What was it He gave us" John III, 16. "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son."  Gave him for our pattern, teacher, guide, Lord and Redeemer, and what did God's fearless Son give.  He gave His precious life.  The rest of the verse, John III. 16. tells us "that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish but have everlastin life." This world has been redeemed by love through Jesus Christ our Lord and each of us, dear boys and girls, can enter into that everlasting life if we will be brave and stand up for the truth as He would have us.  Come on little pilgrims let us be brave and give Him our lives. It takes brave little boys and girls to be "Soldiers of the Cross."  It takes brave little boys and girls to tell the truth, to be honest, to do their duty, to be faithful and it take brave boys and girls to make brave men and women  and that is what the world needs, oh! so much, that is what God wants of us, that his Kingdom may come into each heart, is the prayer of your loving teacher and friend.
