Wight County, Virginia. He died in 1797 in Warren County, North Carolina.
Prior to 1750 Joseph and his brothers crossed the Roanoake Rive r and settled
on Little Fishing Creek in Warren County, North Ca rolina. He enlisted in 1754
in the Granville County Militia uni t commanded by Capt. Daniel HARRIS. the unit
was commanded by Ca pt. Charles POLK during the Revolutionary War. Joseph signed
hi s will on 20 October 1796. Jane "Jean" EGERTON and Joseph HARRIS
