Will of Martha Lancaster of Warren Co., NC
Probated February Court 1798 WB9:307

In the name of God Amen I MARTHA LANCASTER of Warren County and State of North Carolina being weak of body and of sound and disposing mind and memory thanks be to God for the same and calling to mind that men must die do constitute & ordain this my Last Will and Testament.

First and principally I recommend my soul unto the hand of Almighty God who gave it and my body to be decently buried at the discretion of my Extr hereinafter named & also for such worldly estate as it has pleased Almighty God to bless me with I leave in manner & form following, viz

Item I leave my negro man TIM to hire out until my youngest child comes of age or to be sold any time when my Extr thinks it proper and when sold the money to be equally divided between my living children as they come of age (to wit) ABEL LANCASTER, CLARY LANCASTER, JEAN LANCASTER, WM LANCASTER and HARRIS LANCASTER.

Item I leave all the rest of my Estate wheresoever or whatsoever to be sold to pay my just debts and the remainder of the money if any to be equally divided between my living children as the rest of my estate.

Item I leave my brother ROBBIN HARRIS and WILMOT EGERTON & JOHN J. EGERTON my sole Estrs of this my Last Will and Testament.

Given under my hand and seal this the 6th day of November 1797.

JOHN E. HARRIS & HOWARD HARRIS proved this Will and Testament of MARTHA LANCASTER decd which is ordered to be recorde wherupon WILMOT EGERTON, one of the Extr named in said Will qualified.

Note:  Martha (Harris) Lancaster was the wife of Moses Lancaster and the mother of Clarissa Lancaster who married George Pegram, Jr.
