74. John Barclay HARTON (1) was born on 24 Jan 1849 in Kennedy, Lamar Co., AL. He died on 19 Dec 1926 in Fayette, AL. This John Harton was a physician in Kennedy, Al. His bride came from an adjoining county in MS. He apparently attended the U of AL in 1870 meaning he was born sometime in the 1850's/ I also found information in a book on cemeteries in Fayette Co., AL. The dates given are the tombstone ones. It may be that J.L. Harton born 20 Aug 1853 is the brother of John Barclay, at least they are buried in the same cemetery. J. L.'s wife was probably Kate Branyon because the Branyon family cemetery west of Bellacross River has two infants buried there, one a dau b. 22 Apr 1898 and the other a son b and d 19 Feb 1895. The marker says "JL and Kate Harton" There is also a P.L. Harton in the Fayette cemetery and Rachel C.
He was married to Mary Jane Williams (MOLLIE) in Itawamba Co., MS. Mary Jane Williams (MOLLIE)(1) was born on 15 Oct 1851 in Etawamba Co., MS. She died on 16 Jun 1897 in Fayette, AL.
