FOURTH GENERATION


58. Absalom M. HARTON (1) was born in 1822. He died in 1867 in Cherokee Co., AL. Both Absolom and his wife are buried in the Harton Cemetery near Cedar Bluff, AL. Both were members of the Cedar Bluff Baptist Church and Absolom was elected a Deacon of that Church on 8 April 1865.

He was married to Annie Graves BABER (daughter of Robert BABER and Mary DANIEL) on 14 Mar 1845 in Rutherford County, NC. Annie Graves BABER(1) was born in 1821 in Rutherford County, NC. She died in 1907 in Cherokee Co., AL. Absalom M. HARTON and Annie Graves BABER had the following children:

158 iii. Walker HARTON(1). Walker moved to Texas where he married. He transferred from Unity Church, Cherokee Co., AL to the Cedar Bluff Baptist Church, Cherokee Co., AL on 5 Octt 1867. He was granted a letter of dismission from the Cedar Bluff Baptist Church on 16 Mar 1878 and the letter was to state that he was amember in full fellowship with the Church when he left the neighborhood for the west several years before.
