13. Thomas HARTON (1) was born in 1793 in Warren County, North Carolina. He died on 3 Aug 1863 in Canton, Madison Co., MS. Thomas may have served iin War of 1812 from Warren County. in 7th Co, MR 1812 and perhaps in 1814, no regiment, also. He may have served under Amos P. Sledge, lieutenant. He may have solemnized marriages 16 July 1839 and 17 May 1838 in Madison Co., TN--at least someone named Thomas Harton, MG did so. The Tri-Weekly Citizan Canton MS reported on Nov 17, 1863 "died at his residence in this county, on the 3rd of August 1863 The Rev. Thomas C. Harton of the Methodist Protestant Church in the 70th year of his age.
