7. Thomas HARTON
(1) died before 1794. We find Scott Harton
of Hancock Co., State of Georgia on 6 Mar 1804 transacting business with Howell
Harton for a tract of land in Warren Co. 28 1/2 acres beginning Isaac Acree's
corner and bounded by his line, Thomas Bell's line, Howell Harton's line and
Burwell Harton's lines.
Also Howell sold 11 Mar 1809 to Burwell 138 1/2 acres (what he inherited from
his father) for 400.
8 Dec 1800 Hardaway sold to Burwell for 210 pounds and 10 shillings 202 acres--his
inheritance.
Book 19 p 39 Burwell buys 87 1/2 acres for 60 pounds Va money from William Colclough,
land Geo Nicholson bought from John Liddell. Registered 15 July 1801.
Book 20 Burwell sold to George Nicholson 498 1/2 acres for $2000 on March 7,
1816.
Oct 1813 p 138 Gideon Pegram atty for John P Harton of state of Tn and Daniel
Harton of state of TN and Benjamin Nicholson of Warren Co., NC for $500 Atty
Gideon and Daniel sell their interest in an undivided tract of land that is the
right of John P Harton for whom said Gideon is atty and the right of Daniel for
himself left to them with other legatees by their father John Harton on the waters
of Hob Quarters Creek in County of Warren bounded as follows. Beginning on a
red oak Pegram's north west corner thence line East to a red oak thence South
to William Pegram's NW corner post oak thence East along line to a white oak
thence West along Joins line to a maple Riggan's corner thence along sd line
to a branch thence down sd branch as it meanders to Hubquarters creek thence
up sd creek as it meanders to the plane branch. Thence along P. branch as it
meanders to Miller's corner on a white oak thence along Miller's line to the
beginning.
Book 26 p 28 has Thomas Harton selling to Gideon Pegram 17 Oct 1814 his one
fourth undivided interest in two tracts of land, one the tract of John Harton
and the other being adjacent and being the tract owned by the wife of the said
John Harton of 300 acres bounded by lands of Gideon Pegram, William Miller, and
William Riggan for $250.
He was married to Mary WOOD on 24 Nov 1779 in Warren County, North Carolina.
