Paintings by Marjorie M. E. Pegram

Original Still Life Watercolor/Acrylic Paintings signed Marjorie Pegram. (1883-1972).  Marjorie (a/k/a Marjory) became a painter of some note.  She studied at Cooper Union, a small private college in Manhatten, N. Y.,  with noted artists, Emil Carlsen & John Henry Twachtman and was a member of the  Woodstock Art Colony. She died in 1973 in Carmel, California. We have found a newspaper article where she was featured at an exhibit of 23 Carmel, California artists held at Stanford University in May of 1943.

Marjorie was the daughter of Orlando Pegram and wife, Mary Sanford.  Apparently she never married.  In 1920, she was living with her mother on West 81st Street in New York, City and in 1930 she had moved to California.
