20 Feb. 1836 - JOHN PEGRAM SR. TO JOHN PEGRAM JR. in consideration of the natural good will and affection which he has for his son, JOHN PEGRAM JR. and also for $ 290 - 228 acres on the waters of Belew's Creek...begin at a black oak & chestnut old corner of WOODSIDE tract on side of the road...W to BAKER PEGRAM's corner...N on BAKER PEGRAM's line...thence along various turning of the road to HENRY CLARK's line..Wit: CALEB JONES (jurat), DEMSEY McKENNEY. 10 Mar. 1836 - JOHN PEGRAM SR. to BAKER PEGRAM for natural good will and affection he has for his son, BAKER PEGRAM, and also for his better maintenance and for $1 - 19 + acres on waters of Belew's Creek ...begin at a maple south side of the branch run...E to a dogwood marked "B"...to a hickory on JOHN PEGRAM JUNR.'s line....W along that line to a Turkey Oak claimant's now corner...to pointers GEORGE PEGRAM's corner....N on GEORGE PEGRAM's line... 30 May 1837 - Deed of Trust. JACOB PEGRAM is indebted to GEORGE PEGRAM for $ 397 and is hopeful of paying said debt, therefore he mortgages 85 acres of land to JOHN FRAZER as security for $ 1 - land is part in Guilford and part in Rockingham Co., NC...begin at a branch... plus 2 bay horses, 4 head of cattle, 15 head of hogs, furniture, a standing crop of corn and wheat, and 1 rifle...being site and property of said JACOB PEGRAM... Condition is that if JACOB PEGRAM does not pay GEORGE PEGRAM the sum of $ 397 with interest by 25 Dec. Next, said JOHN FRAZER may sell above property at public auction to raise said sum. 1 Mar. 1839 - Deed of Trust. JACOB PEGRAM is indebted to GEORGE PEGRAM by bond of 27 Feb. 1839 for $ 114 and bond of (blank)) Feb. 1839 for $ 25 to JOHN FEILDS- all of which bonds NATHAN KING is his security. Therefore for $ 1 to SOWELL FRAZER - mortgage of a grist mill and 5 acres in Guilford Co., & Rockingham Co., NC., plus 2 feather beds, 3 head of cattle, 10 head of hogs...on condition that whenever requested by NATHAN KING or said JACOB PEGRAM...said SOWELL FRAZER will sell aforementioned goods for ready money.  24 Apr. 1840 - Division of the lands of JOHN PEGRAM decd. to his heirs. Commissioners lay off the dower land to the widow of JOHN PEGRAM decd. and make partition of said Estate in connection with two other tracts of land belonging to the Estate and a 3d. tract known as Mill tract containing 35 acres and make division to legatees of said Estate of 4 tracts and the mansion tract after setting apart the Dower to the widow:

 16 Oct 1837 - Deed of Trust. BANNER PEEPLES is indebted to JESSE PEGRAM for $ 125 due by note bearing interest from 10 Jan. 1836 and is hopeful of paying said debt, therefore he mortgages to said JESSE PEGRAM 50 acres + on waters of Haw River adjoining HENRY KNOTT and GEORGE PEGRAM plus 1 bed and furniture, 1 cow and calf, 6 shoats, 10 barrels of corn, 1 fodder stack plus other household and kitchen furniture...Condition is that if said BANNER PEEPLES fails to satisfy said debt before 16 Apr. 1838, then WILEY BROWN as the third party is to proceed to sell said property to satisfy debt. OGBURN, JAMES BRITTAIN & JAMES LOCK, freeholders unconnected wit- ELIZABETH PEGRAM, Widow of WILLIAM PEGRAM decd....came to the late residence of said WILLIAM PEGRAM decd. For which a title has been made to the said ELIZABETH PEGRAM & her heirs as we are informed by JOHN PEGRAM decd. Since the death of the said WILLIAM PEGRAM decd. & there being 100 acres adjoining the said late residence of WILLIAM PEGRAM decd....it being the only land but what had been sold by the Admr.  29 Dec. 1846 - Power of Attorney from WILLIAM BOWEN and POLLY , his wife (daughter of ALFRED KNOTT deceased) of Gibson Co., TN., who appoint GEORGE PEGRAM of Guilford Co., NC., attorney, to receive from WYATT RAGSDILL, Executor of the Estate of HENRY KNOTT deceased and guardian of ALFRED KNOTT's heirs, the legacy bequeathed to said POLLY or the distributive share of said estate descended to said WILLIAM BOWEN by his marriage to said POLLY from the estate of the said HENRY KNOTT decd.  17 Feb. 1849 - Power of Attorney from WILLIAM HAMPTON and SARAH HAMPTON (daugther of ALFORD KNOTT decd.) of Gibson Co., TN., who appoint GEORGE PEGRAM of Guilford Co., TN., their attorney to receive from WYATT RAGSDALE a legacy bequeathed "to me by my Grandfather HENRY KNOTT late of the County of Guilford, NC., now deceased... Wit: THOMAS ASTIN, SAMUEL ASTIN (DB 30: 649)

 27 FEB. 1849 - Power of Attorney from WILLIAM WHITE SR. of Robertson Co., TN., who authorized JOHN PEGRAM of Guilford Co., NC., to be said WHITE's attorney to sell said WHITE's land lying in Guilford and Rockingham Co., NC., of 200 acres. Said PEGRAM sent letter to said WHITE stating that said land hab been sold for $ 200 and that $ 75 had been received in cash, the balance to be paid as follows: $ 62 to be paid on 25 Dec. 1848, the rest to be paid on 25 Dec. 1849. Said WHITE subsequently learned that said attorney, JOHN PEGRAM, had departed this life. Said WHITE now appoints DANIEL PEGRAM of Guilford Co., NC., attorney, to collect the money still owed as it becomes due for the land purchase and to make good a deed to the purchaser. (DB 32:49)

Wit: J (?) F. PEGRAM. Proved Nov. 1851. (DB 32:523). (COMMENT: Most of the deed books from his point became difficult to read, because the white writing in the negative was not defined enough.)

7 Mar 1855 - Deed of Trust. JOHN F. PEGRAM to DANIEL A. PEGRAM as security for the benefit of DANIEL PEGRAM SR. and FLEMING THOMASON. Said JOHN F. PEGRAM in indebted to JOHN FRAZIER for $ 155 due bond on 15 Mar 1855, subject to credit of $ 100 paid 7 Feb. 1855 and DANIEL A. PEGRAM and FLEMIN THOMASON are securities of same; said JOHN F. PEGRAM is also indebted to WILLIAM BROOKBANK for $ 31 and LEWIS BRANSON for $ 10 due 6 Feb 1855. Therefore, JOHN F. PEGRAM as highest bidder with a bid of $ 306 for 43 & ¾ acres on waters of Belew’s Creek plus two other tracts of 58 acres and 98 & ¼ acres – former land of JOHN PEGRAM decd.
