Other souces have said she died in 1868 but she is listed in the 1880 Census.
Caroline married Eldridge Newsom Bell son of John Bell and Hesse MacDonald in 1851 in Davidson Co., Tennessee. Eldridge was born 1, 2, 3, 4 in 1828 in Tennessee. He died after 1888 in Perry Co., Tennessee.
This Civil War gentleman was the oldest son of John and Esther. He went by the nickname of Nuse. He is buried in the Bell-Robertson Cemetery beside Caroline. Nuse served in Co. F, 9th Tennessee Calvary as a blacksmith. He enlisted November of 1861 and was taken prisoner at Ft. Donelson. By 1862, he was back home. He re-enlisted again by September of 1862. Looking at the dates of his children, it is hard to tell when he was in service and when he was home.
In 1870, he is found living next to his father in Perry Co., Tennessee. All 10 children are still in the home. The 11th child, Montgomery, was not yet born.

In 1870 she and her husband are found living close to her father in Perry Co., Tennessee. In addition to their oldest son, Joshua, there are also 2 Bell children in the home, i.e. John Bell, age 10 and Sally Bell, age 7. We do not know the parents of these children but most probably it is a deceased son of John Bell who is also close by. Note that there is also a young child in the home of John Bell in 1870.
The family of William Heath were neighbors in 1870.
In 1900 she is identified and George Ann Heath, indicating she is again a widow. She is found living with her son, Frank G. Sutton in both 1900 and 1920.

Jane married 1 (2) Alexander (Alex) Heath son of William Heath and Jane Bell on 11 Sep 1873 in Perry Co., Tennessee. Alexander was born 2, 3 in 1854 in Tennessee. He died after 1920 in Perry Co., Tennessee.
There is a difference between the 1880 and the 1900 Census for both Alex and Jane. Jane's name looks like Amfa and the birth date is also wrong but it is clearly her children. The 1900 Census shows the couple have been married for 25 years. Jane has had 9 children with 9 living.
In 1920, Alex is a widow. The only children remaining at home are Nellie, James and Leslie.

2772. William James Pegram 1 (Thomas Isles , George Scott , George , George , Daniel , George ) was born 2, 3 in Feb 1845 in Davidson Co., Tennessee.
On October 13, 1868, eight months after his marriage, he sold a one hundred acre tract of land in District 12 of Cheatham County, Tennessee to Thos. H. Sneed for $500.00. This land had been willed to him by his uncle, John Peter Pegram. It was described as bordering on 1200 acres belonging to W. D. Hutton, a 50 acre tract belonging to Roger Pegram and a tract belonging to Benjamin Woodward. After selling this land, he and his wife moved to Humphreys County, Tennessee where they settled and raised their family.
Based on letter referenced below, William and Deborah had 7 children. However, there are 2 different lists naming these 7 children. We are not going to include Mary, Roy, Robelia and Edward (as given by one researcher and listed in Some Middle Tennesse Pegrams since the Porch family records seem to be based on actual family records with more detail. We hope that someone will be able to shed some light on the other children named in Some Middle Tennessee Pegrams.
William married 2 Deborah Ella Porch 1 daughter of John Carter Porch and Martha M. Ussery on 5 Feb 1868 in Cheatham Co., Tennessee. Deborah was born 3 on 18 Jan 1848 in Tennessee. She died on 13 Jan 1932.

Minnie George Pegram wrote a letter sometime after 1957 to a cousin and stated she was the last survivor of 7 children. She gave no particulars other than to say her brother Ross died in 1957.It is signed with the last name of Ivy but we have nothing further on her marriage or family.Minnie married Ivy.

Robert married Mary "Molly" E. Fulghum daughter of Benjamin Fulghum and Caroline Elizer Woodward on 25 Sep 1861 in Cheatham Co., Tennessee. Mary was born in Cheatham Co., Tennessee. She died on 9 Mar 1900 in Cheatham Co., Tennessee.

The WWI Civil Registration card gives his name as Harry Julian.Harry married 1 Bertha Allison Holt daughter of Major William Holt and Lydia A. Pegram in 1918. Bertha was born 2, 3 on 8 Apr 1882 in Cheatham Co., Tennessee. She died 4 on 8 Jul 1948 in Pegram, Cheatham Co., Tennessee. She was buried 5 in Kingston Springs, Cheatham Co., Tennessee.

2775. George W. Pegram 1, 2 (Roger P. , George Scott , George , George , Daniel , George ) was born 3, 4 on 24 Sep 1838 in Davidson Co., Tennessee. He died in 1904.
George W. Pegram's Civil War service record, includes three Company Muster Rolls, one Register of Payments to Discharged Soldiers, one pay voucher, and one certificate of discharge. George enlisted as a Private in Company A, 1st (Feild's) Tennessee Infantry on May 13, 1861 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was shown as absent on Sep 1, 1861 due to being "sick in hospital at Warm Springs, Virginia". He was discharged on Feb, 18, 1862 by Jas. Glover. George also appeared on the Company Muster Roll for Capt. T. F. Sevier's Company, 1st Regiment Tenneessee Infantry, dated January 9, 1864 in Dalton, Georgia.
He is shown in the 1870 census of Davidson County, Tennessee, in the 12th District, as age 31, and unmarried, living with the family of Aris Brown. Court records show that he was a Justice of the Peace in 1870. George is said to have been the proprietor of a general store, on Thompson Road, in Pegram, for many years. It was the same store that had been owned earlier by John Peter Pegram.
At the age of forty, in 1877, George married Minnie L. Birkinbine, a beautiful, red haired girl, nineteen years his junior. Minnie was from Wisconsin, but had come to Nashville and was attending college there when they met. In 1878, George owned one hundred and twenty acres of land in the Pegram's Station area. He built a beautiful colonial home for his bride, Minnie, facing what is now Highway 70, (Pegram Avenue).
On January 15, 1879, George W. Pegram was appointed postmaster of Pegram's Station, Tennessee. On April 29, 1882, the official name of the town and post office was changed to Pegram, Tennessee. George served in this office three months short of twenty-five years. Since the railroad ticket office and post office were located in the store building, George wore three hats; that of postmaster, ticket agent, and proprietor of the store.
George married Minnie L. Birkinbine in 1877. Minnie was born 1 in 1859 in Wisconsin. She died 2 on 30 Nov 1896 in Cheatham Co., Tennessee.
