In 1880 she and her family were living with the family of her sister, Leila McCandlish.
Her obituary from "The Times-Dispatch," Richmond, Virginia, Monday, Dec. 3, 1906 reads:
"JONES.-Died, suddenly, Sunday, December 2, 1906, at 10 A. M., at her residence, 313 West Washington Street, Petersburg, Va., Ada Virginia Vaughan Jones, wife of Walter N. Jones. Funeral from her late residence Tuesday, December 4, 1906, at 11 A. M. Friends are invited to attend."
Ada married Walter Nelson Jones 1, 2 son of Thomas Henry Jones and Rosa Day on 25 Nov 1875 in Petersburg, Independant City, Virginia. Walter was born 3, 4 on 8 Aug 1850.
The following is taken from Captain Roger Jones of London and Virginia:
"They reside at Petersburg, where he is engaged in bark and sumac milling and in the tobacco business. He was a volunteer soldier in the Confederate States Army, surrendering with General Lee at Appomattox Court-House, when he was yet but fourteen years of age. In the spring of 1889, I was entertained by him and his wife at their home in Petersburg, and I shall not soon forget the cozy picture of domestic love and happiness which their home life revealed to me. They have five boys, viz.: Walter N., Benjamin Vaughan, Thomas Catesby, Lemuel Roy, and Robert Francis. They are members of the Presbyterian church."
He is found in the home of his widowed sister-in-law, Lelia McCandlish on the 1910 Census of Petersburg, Virginia. Also in the same household are 2 of his sons, Benjamin V. and Lemuel R. Jones.
