2383. Elizabeth (Bettie) Southall (Rebecca Rives (Reaves) , William McGuffy Rives , Thomas Henry Rives , Mary Pegram , Daniel , George ) was born 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 in 1847 in Warren Co., North Carolina. She died 7 on 28 May 1942.

She is shown as Minnie on the 1910 Census but this is no doubt our Bettie. The age is right and she shows she was born in North Carolina which is also correct. She is correctly identified as Bettie on the 1920 Census.

Elizabeth married 1, 2, 3 James Robert (Bob) Brame on 23 Jun 1869 in Christian Co., Kentucky. James was born 4, 5 in May 1945 in Kentucky.

In 1880, Sudie Southall, age 10, is living in the home and identifed as a niece.

The 1900 Census shows the couple have been married for 30 years. They have had 5 children, all of whom are still in the home.

In 1910, on Minnie and Vivian are still at home.

They had the following children:

In 1920, he is again single, living next to his parents.
        R. Alex Brame married Maggie. Maggie was born 1 in 1884 in Kentucky.
  6713 F ii Minnie Brame was born 1, 2, 3 in Sep 1875 in Christian Co., Kentucky.

She is listed as a sister to Robert Brame on the 1880 Census but on the 1900 Census she is listed as a daughter. She was a school teacher, still single, living with her parents in 1920.

The 1900 Census reflects they have been married for 28 years. They have had 3 children, all living. Still at home are sons and George and Josiah with his wife and son.

Stephen married Lucy about 1872 in North Carolina. Lucy was born 1, 2 in Aug 1848 in North Carolina.

He died 5 on 29 Jun 1905 in Hico, Lincoln Parish, Louisiana. He was buried 6 in Henry Cemetery, Lincoln Parish, Louisiana.

Shortly after marriage, the couple moved to Clay county, Alabama. After service in the Confederate Army with Wheeler's Cavalry, the couple moved to Lincoln Parish, Louisiana. Childs says they moved to Louisiana in 1869 but the 1880 Census shows the younger children were born in Alabama.

The 1900 Census reflects the couple hav been married for 55 years. They have had 16 children with 9 living.

Thomas married 1 Martha Walter Lee about 1845. Martha was born 2, 3 in Jan 1830 in Georgia.

Sarah married Thomas Jefferson Powell 1 son of Elisha Powell and Elizabeth Malone on 20 Dec 1855. Thomas was born on 14 Feb 1836 in Campbell Co., Georgia. He was buried in Alpine Cemetery, Clark Co., Arkansas.

The youngest son, was evidently the W. J. Rives who served as a private in Co. I, Clinch's 4th Ga. Cav. and in Johnson's 11th Ga. Cav., C. S. A. He married in Alabama and moved to Johnson Co., Texas, shortly after the Civil War.

William married (1) Mary F. Owens daughter of Thomas Owens and Nancy Weldon. Mary was born 1, 2 on 10 Jan 1845. She died on 22 Mar 1901 in Glen Rose, Sommerville Co., Texas. She was buried 3 in George's Creek Cemetary, Sommervell Co., Texas. Mary died 4 on 22 Mar 1901 in Georges Creek, Glen Rose, Texas.
