5769. Jane Louise Pegram (William Bryan (Baker) , Henry Baker , Nathaniel James , Baker , Edward , Daniel , George ) was born ¹ on 3 Jun 1914 in Denver, Colorado. She died on 24 Dec 2001 in Emporia, Kansas.

Her obituary in the McCook Daily Gazette, McCook, Nebraska reads in part as follows:

Emporis, Kan. -- Jane "Louise" P. Austin, 87, formerly of McCook, died Monday (Dec. 24, 2001) at the Holiday Resort Rehabilitation Center in Emporia. She was born June 3, 1914, at Denver, Colo., to William Bryan and Emma Louise (Smith) Pegram. She graduated from Denver High School.

On Oct. 20, 1948, she married Thomas Allen Austin at Denver. They lived in Denver and McCook. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1974.

She attended and supported St. Alban's Episcopal Church in McCook, and St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Emporia. She was a member of St. Monica's Guild in McCook.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas; and two brothers, William and John Pegram.

Survivors include two daughters, Viola Heskett of Emporia, and Shirley Ridgley of Aurora, Colo.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Jane married Thomas Allen Austin on 20 Oct 1948 in Denver, Colorado. Thomas died on 29 Apr 1974.

Elizabeth married ^{1, 2} Rev. Robert Strange son of Robert Strange and Sarah Caroline Wright on 29 Sep 1886 in Wilmington, New Hanover Co., North Carolina. Robert was born ³ in Dec 1857 in Wilmington, New Hanover Co., North Carolina.

The 1900 Census reflects the couple had been married for 13 years. They have had two children, both living in the home.

By 1910, Ella had died and Charles had remarried.
