Sarah married (2) Elisha David Gardner son of Heath Gardner and Susannah Weldon on 21 Oct 1856 in Green Co., Kenucky. Elisha was born on 6 Jul 1792 in Pittsylvania Co., Virginia. He died on 27 Apr 1865 in Hart Co., Kentucky.

Migrated to Kentucky in 1811 with his brothers Edmond, Stephen and Jonathan. Hannah Watkins was the daughter of James Watkins, a Revolutionary Soldier who was granted land by Patrick Henry in 1786, (land known as Watkins' Bend on the North side of Green River, near Canmer and Hardyville, Ky., then Virginia). James Watkins lived a year at Harrodsburg, (Harrodstown) before obtaining the land grant in 1786, and while at Harrodsburg he married Nancy Ann Kennedy, dtr. of James Kennedy who was among the first settlers at Harrodstown, Ky. having come there with Harrod who founded the settlement.
