In 1870 he was still single, living with his sister, Ella, and working as a clerk in a store. On the 1880 Census of St. Louis, Missouri, his occupation is given as "Livestock Dealer". The family actually appears twice on the 1880 Census. The first is with her family and the 2nd is in their own home.
Edward married Laura Hayden 1 daughter of Nathaniel Hayden and Sarah about 1875 in Missouri. Laura was born 2 about 1849 in Ohio.

In 1910, Harry, still single, is found living in Spokane, Washington. In 1920, Harry is found living in Flint, Michigan, where he is employed as a machinist in an automobile factory. The 1910 Census gives his place of birth as Michigan but this appears to be an error.
Note that we have found a tombstone in Tulare Co., California which says that Harry C. Pegram, b. 1876, was a brother of Edwin Baron Pegram so it is possible that this Harry was not the son of Edward Augustine but a nephew.Harry married Eula. Eula was born 1 in 1880 in Ohio. 6139 F ii Lillia Pegram was born 1 in 1880 in Missouri.
2225. Margaret Virginia Pegram (James Lawrence , Thomas , Daniel , Edward , Daniel , George ) was born 1, 2 on 17 Aug 1849 in Montgomery Co, Missouri. She died 3 on 11 Feb 1933.
Margaret married 1 (2) Joseph W. Miller son of Joseph Alexander Miller and Emily Elizabeth Dunnington on 28 Oct 1868 in Montgomery Co., Missouri. Joseph was born 2, 3 on 9 Sep 1845 in Columbia, Missouri. He died on 29 Mar 1875.

2226. Eugene Beauharnais Pegram 1 (James Lawrence , Thomas , Daniel , Edward , Daniel , George ) was born 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 on 17 Aug 1849 in Montgomery Co., Missouri. He died 8, 9 on 3 May 1943 in Audrain Co., Missouri.
The 1880 Census shows Eugene and his new wife, identified as Molly, living with his father. Henry Clarke Pegram who is identified on his tombstone as a brother of Edwin Baron Pegram, is not with the family on the 1880 Census although his birthdate was supposedly 1876. However, he shows he is age 40 on the 1920 Census which means he could have been born later in the year of 1880.
The 1900 Census shows the couple have been married for 21 years. There is no notation on the Census regarding possible children but it seem logical that the 2 boys living with Mary, a few doors away, are actually children of Eugene and Mary. Mary shows that she was born in Ohio and the boys both show their mother was born in Ohio. Eugene's occupation is given as Post Master.
We only determined that Harry was another child when we found the tombstone inscriptions of Hillcrest Cemetery in Tulare Co., California.
In 1930 Eugene is found living alone. His occupation is shown as "Sales stable" dealing in horses and mules.
Eugene married Mary (Mollie) Leary daughter of Joe Leary and Unknown about 1879 in Ohio. Mary was born 1, 2 in Sep 1862 in Cleveland, Ohio. She died 3, 4, 5 on 17 Mar 1927 in Montgomery Co., Missouri.
They had the following children:
6141 M i Henry (Harry) Clark Pegram was born 1, 2, 3 in 1876 in Missouri. He died in Jan 1963. He was buried in Hillchrest Cemetery, Tulare Co., California.
In 1920 the couple were living in Berkeley, California where Henry was employed as a bookkeeper with and insurance company. In 1930 the couple are found in Tulare Co., California.Henry married 1 Estelle Harris. Estelle was born 2 on 13 Oct 1882 in Missouri. She died 3 on 12 Apr 1967 in Tulare Co., California. She was buried 4 in Hillchrest Cemetery, Tulare Co., California. 6142 M ii Edwin Baron (aka Ben E.) Pegram was born on 22 Aug 1880. In 1880, the couple are found living with Martha's parents in South Carolina They later lived in Gastonia, North Carolina. In 1880 he joined in a partnership to form Reagan and Pegram, a major general merchandice store in Gastonia.
Thomas married Martha Roxanna (Mattie) Craig daughter of Newton B. Craig and Mary Margaret on 19 Oct 1875. Martha was born 1, 2 on 21 Dec 1851 in South Carolina.
In 1860, Martha and her parents were found living next door to the family of Daniel Theodore Pegram.

6145 M i Earl Stowe Pegram was born on 10 Apr 1877. He died on 15 Mar 1915. 6146 M ii Lamar Craig Pegram was born 1 in Mar 1879 in South Carolina. He died about 1916.
Lamar Craig was as popular as his brother Earl Stowe. Like his brother, he was a banker, and a promising business man. He died at 37 years of age. His obituary noted that he was "the best loved and most prominent young business man of this section of the sate..."
Lamar served first in the First National Bank in Gastonia, and later in Wilmington, Kings Mountain and Lenoir, North Carolina. At the time of his death he held a responsible position with a string of mills, comprising the Lenoir, Moore Hudson and Whitnel Cotton Mills.
Lamar and Anna had no children.Lamar married Anna Belle McKinnon daughter of Lauchlin D. McKennon and Mary Jane McKinnon in Mar 1916 in First Presbyterian Church, Laurinburg, South Carolina. Anna died in 1980. 6147 F iii Jennie H. Pegram was born in Mar 1880 in Gaston Co., North Carolina. 6148 M iv Edward Newton Pegram was born 1 on 14 Jan 1885 in Gaston Co., North Carolina. He died 2 on 24 Jul 1942 in Mecklenburg Co., North Carolina.
He never married.6149 F v Jennie McIlwain Pegram was born on 1 Mar 1892. She died on 15 Mar 1893.
