The 1900 Census clearly has an error. It shows the couple have been married for 27 years and shows older children from his prior marriage, i.e. Arthur, Conrad and Williams. However, we know that Eliza Alice was still living at home and unmarried in 1880. We can only assume the 27 years refers to the period since his first marriage.

The 1900 Census shows they have been married for 19 years. They have had 9 children with 8 living. The 1920 Census shows they have have had one more child, a daughter, Bessie B.
At the time of the 1920 Census, Albert and Bessie were still living at home.
Another source shows she was born in Illinois but the 1880 and 1900 Census show North Carolina. For some reason, she is listed as Mary C. on the 1880 Census but we know that her older sister was named Mary so it makes it unlikely that the 1880 Census is correct.
Nancy married 2 Stephen L. Angel 1 son of James W. Angel and Amana in 1881 in Rockingham Co., North Carolina. Stephen was born 3, 4, 5 in May 1860 in Rockingham Co., North Carolina.

It appears he was also the census taker since the 1900 cenus of Rockingham Co. for the district in which he lived shows the census taker as Joe. C. Lasley.
