MOREHEAD CITY - Theodore Allen Rooker Sr., 88, of 107 Bryan St., Morehead City, and formerly of Henderson, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at Carteret-General Hospital in Morehead City. Born in Vance County, he was the son of-the late Thomas E. and Blanche Holmes Rooker . - He was retired after 37 years as a driver for Greyhound Bus Lines. A 32nd-Degree Mason, he was a member and Past Master of Henderson Masonic Lodge-#229 A.F. and A.M. He was a member of the Henderson Shrine Club, the-Henderson York Rite Bodies, and Blandford Bute AMD Council. A lifelong-member of City Road United Methodist Church, he served as usher, greeter,-and treasurer for the Methodist Men. - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at City Road United-Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Bill Jefferies. Burial, with Masonic-Rites, will follow in Sunset Gardens. - Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Flora Owens Rooker ; a daughter, Dawn-R. Wright, and husband, Owen, of Pawley's Island, S.C.; three sons, Ted-Rooker of Pinnacle, Dwight Rooker and wife, Amy, of Archdale, and Kevin-Rooker and wife, Joyce, of Newport; four grandchildren, Kim Wright, Keith-Wright, Carlee Malcom and K.C. Rooker ; and five great-grandchildren. - He was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers. - The family will receive friends Friday, from 1 to 1:45 p.m., in the parlor-at City Road United Methodist Church. - Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to City Road United-Methodist Church, P.O.Box 116, Henderson, NC 27536. -
