Mildred married Paul Poindexter on 7 Apr 1939 in Morrilton, Arkansas. Paul was born on 11 Jul 1913. He died on 21 Nov 1981 in Morrilton, Arkansas.

Florrie married Donald Edward Marquette ¹ son of Harry E. Marquette and Irma Davies on 27 Apr 1945. Donald was born on 19 Apr 1922 in Kansas City, Missouri. He died on 10 Mar 1996 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

His obituary published March 12, 1996 in the Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph reads in part:

Retired Lt. Col. Donald E. Marquette, 73, a former Air Force intelligence officer, died March 10, 1996, at a local hospital. A Vesper memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 701 N. 20th St. Swan-Law Funeral Home is handling arrangements. At Lt. Col. Marquette's request, his body was donated to science. Lt. Col. Marquette was born April 19, 1922, in Kansas City, Mo., to Harry E. and Irma (Davies) Marquette. He was married March 27, 1945, in Conway, Ark., to Florrie (Harton) Marquette, who lives in Colorado Springs. Other survivors include a son, Ronald M. of Raleigh, N.C.; a daughter, Mimi of Colorado Springs; a brother, J.W. of Folsom, Calif.; and five grandchildren. His son, Thomas S., is deceased. Lt. Col. Marquette served in the Air Force for 31 years and received the Joint Commendation Medal and the Legion of Merit Award. He had lived in Colorado Springs for 32 years and enjoyed ballroom dancing, reading, working cryptograms and traveling in recreational vehicles. He was a member of the Pikes Peak Jazz and Swing Society, Retired Officers Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4051 and the American Legion. He had previously lived in Japan, Morocco, Alaska, Germany and Texas.

10907. Jane Van Voorhees Harton (Marcus Wright Harton , Daniel Osbon Harton , John James Harton , Daniel Harton , Sarah Pegram , Daniel , Daniel , George ) was born on 27 Aug 1930 in Conway, Faulkner Co., Arkansas. She died ¹ on 16 Apr 2005 in Asheville, Buncomb Co. North Carolina.

Her obituary published April 19, 2005, in The Greenville News, reads in part:

Jane Harton Peyrouse, of Greenville, S.C., died unexpectedly Saturday, April 16, 2005, of heart failure in Asheville, N.C.

A native of Conway, Ark., she held an AB degree from Randolph Macon Women's College of Lynchburg, Va., and an MA from Columbia University. She spent many years of her professional life teaching college English.

For the last 20 years she avidly pursued genealogical research on her Harton and Winn family tree. Last fall she published a comprehensive history of her Harton forebears, which dated back to the seventeenth century.

She served as officer of many organizations she belonged to, and while living in Fayetteville, N.C., served as Chapter president of her PEO chapter and as Regent of the local DAR chapter. She attended St. Peter's Episcopal Church of Greenville, S.C.

She is survived by her husband, John (Jack) Peyrouse; her daughters, Jane Peyrouse of Boston, Mass., and Marcia Gaines of Greenville, S.C.; a son, John (Jay) Peyrouse of Greenville, S.C.; three grandchildren; and her brother, Marcus Harton of Nashville, Tenn.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, with Fr. Eric Schnaufer officiating.

Jane married John Claude Peyrouse. John was born in Ovid, Colorado.

10939. Stella Margaret "Sally" Ramsey ¹ (Nancy Almond Harton , Daniel Thomas Harton , Daniel T. Harton , Gideon Harton , Sarah Pegram , Daniel , Daniel , George ) was born on 23 Jan 1899 in Elkton, Todd Co., Kentucky. She died on 22 Oct 1995 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She was buried in Meadowbrook Mem. Mausoleum, Suffolk, Virginia.

Worked as a furrier with Smith & Weltons, an old department store in Norfolk, Virginia, Sally never learned to drive.

On the home scene, she was known by her grandkids for three great dishes: corn pones, hot tamales and fudge (both chocolate and peanut butter!). Her daughter, Jeannine, also remembers her making truly fabulous white divinity candy with black walnuts. Obviously, Grandma Sally inherited her candy making ability from her own mother, Nancy Harton Ramsey.

Every year for Christmas, Grandma Sally would make us grandkids nightgowns and pajamas and wrap them in white tissue paper covered with sparkles. We always got to open these gifts on Christmas Eve. They never failed to delight us even though we knew what we were getting! In addition to her other talents, Grandma Sally was a very talented seamstress who made clothes without patterns and made all of her daughter, Jeannine's, clothes while growing up.

A lively lady with an absolutely delightful sense of humor, Grandma had her full mental faculties until the day she died. Near the end, she lived in a "assisted living home" in Norfolk, Virginia and at one time experienced a few crank calls. Clever to the end, Grandma got a whistle and kept it around her neck. When she got a crank call, she just whistled into the receiver. One time I called and took a little too long to identify myself. At that point, Granny told me I better hurry up and identify myself or I'd "get the whistle!" She was quite a character!

Unfortunately, Grandma also had a rough life that contributed to her addiction to alcohol---a fact more prominent when she was younger.

A truly wonderful lady who always brought smiles to people, she is sorely missed!

Stella married (1) Joseph Tucker ¹. Joseph died in Jan 1920 in Mobile, Mobile Co., Alabama.
