Rita was born to Stella Ramsey out of wedlock and was put up for adoption. Once Stella married Lilburn Townsend Hummer, they attempted to locate Rita and raise her..but were never able to find her.
Sometime in the mid 1980's Rita's children located some of the letters Stella wrote the adoption agency in an attempt to locate get her child back. Through those letters, Rita was able to make contact with Stella.
Although adopted, something happened and Rita was sent to a boarding school by her mother.
She married in Texas, but lived a number of places. They also lived in Mexico with her husband's parents. Jim was a freelance photographer. They retired in Colorado.
Mary married 2 James Roberts 1 in Texas. James was born on 16 May 1910 in Mexico. He died in May 1999 in Colorado. He was buried on 18 May 1999 in Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Boulder, Colorado.
