Her birthdate is taken from a passenger list in 1931 when she was returning to the US from Valparaiso, Chile. In 1933 she was found on a passenger list returning from Burmuda.

V. Elvira Trowbridge married (1) Edward Francis Drake ¹. Edward died on 21 Dec 1943.

The following announcement was found in a number of newspapers in January, 1944:

Former Grid Star Killed
New York - Maj. Edward Francis Drake, former track and football star at Rutgers University and Rhodes scholar, who was attached to the Army Air Forces overseas, was killed recently in the line of duty," according to word received yesterday by his wife, Mrs. Elvira Trowbridge Drake of Bedford Hills, N. Y. Maj. Drake was graduated from Rutgers in 1932 and was a Rhodes scholar at Brasenose College.

Frederick Trowbridge Drake was born on 17 Jun 1938. He may have been adopted by his step-father, Col. Alden Kingsland Sibley. We found a notice of the sale of the Sibley estate where his name was shown as "Frederick T. Sibley". He was also listed as Frederick Sibley on a passenger list when he was returning from France with his mother in August. 1954. At the time, the family's address was in Washington, D. C.

V. Elvira Trowbridge married (2) Col. Alden Kingsland Sibley son of Frederick Hubbard Sibley and Annabelle on 15 Nov 1945 in Bedford Hills, New York. Alden was born on 3 Jan 1911 in Alabama. He died ¹ on 18 Feb 1999 in Brownfield, Oxford Co., Maine.

His obituary in the New York Times reads in part as follows:

SIBLEY-Retired Maj. Gen. Alden Kingsland, 88. Of Brownfield, Maine, and formerly of New York and Washington, D.C. Beloved husband of Elvira (Trowbridge) Sibley. He was on General Eisenhower's Staff during the planning of the invasion of Normandy and was an aide to President Franklin D. Roosevelt. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment with full military honors will be in the West Point Military Cemetery.
