Woodrow W. Griffin, 73, of 330 Lakeview Drive, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Paducah. Mr. Griffin was a retired riverboat captain from MG Transport. He was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church and Masonice Lodge No. 127 F&AM. He is survived by his wife, Mae Belle Womble Griffin, two daughters, Nora Hester of West Paducah and Kitty Lee Steel of Paducah; a stepson, Kevin Courtney of Paducah; two stepdaughters, Jane Williams and Susan McClure, both of Paducah, four grandchildren and five stepgrandchildren. Mr Griffin is preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine McCormick Griffin.... Burial will be in Mount Kenton Cemetary.
Woodrow married (1) Katherine McCormick daughter of Frank McCormick and Nora Mae Watkins on 30 Apr 1937 in Henderson Co., Kentucky. Katherine was born on 25 Nov 1917 in Henderson Co., Kentucky. She died on 23 Jun 1975 in Paducah, McCracken Co., Kentucky. She was buried in Mt. Kenton Cemetary, Paducah, McCracken Co., Kentucky.

"Mrs. Catherine McCormick Griffin, 57, of Paducah, Rt. 6, the Hendron Road, died in Western Baptist Hospital at 4:50 a.m. today. She was born in Henderson. She is survived by her husband, Woodrow Griffin; two daughters, Mrs. Nora Hester of West Paducah and Miss Kitty Lee Griffin of Paducah; and two grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Hester and Ronald Lynn Hester, both of West Paducah... "

DIMMITT - Gertrude Clark, 95, died Thursday, April 15, 2004. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home Ivey Chapel with the Rev. Vergil Ichtertz, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Castro Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Clark was born July 2, 1908, in Quail. She grew up in Quail and attended schools there. On Feb. 7, 1925, she married Jack Clark in Clarendon. They moved to Dimmitt in 1955 from Petersburg. Mrs. Clark was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist church.
She was preceded in death by her husband on June 8, 1989.
Survivors include a son, Jackie Clark and wife Sandra of Dimmitt; a brother, Jack Peggram of Burleson; a granddaughter, Jerri Ka Hadley and husband Mickey of Canyon; and two great-grandsons, Michael and Matthew Hadley, both of Canyon.
Ruby married Erwin Jack Clark. Erwin died on 8 Jun 1989.
