Mr. Peggram was born Sept. 17, 1927, in Quail, Texas, to Roy and Lola Peggram. He grew up east of Amarillo, Texas, and attended schools in Quail and McKnight, Texas. He graduated from Quail High School in 1944. He received his B.S. degree in agriculture from West Texas State University and his master's in counseling from Western State College. He taught school for 20 years while ranching and farming.
He married Frances E. Gooch on June 2, 1950. Mr. and Mrs. Peggram lived in Wiggins for the last 31 years.
He was a member of Summit Baptist Church in Wiggins. He enjoyed raising cattle, participating in and coaching sports and cheering for his children and grandchildren. His family was very important to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Linda Epple of Wiggins; three sons, Tim of Wiggins, Jody of Woodstock, Ga., and Bill of Hixson, Tenn.; a sister, Opal Camp of Dodson, Texas; two brothers, Jim of Canyon, Texas, and Gene of Amarillo; and 10 grandchildren.
