Aaron Sanders Parker, 89, of Tucumcari died Wednesday, July 28, 2004. He was born March 29, 1915 in Quay County at the Quay Valley ranch home of Sanders Ewell Parker and Myrtle Evelyn Peggram Parker.
A 1933 graduate of Tucumcari High School, he graduated from New Mexico A&M College in 1938 with a degree in Animal Husbandry. Parker married Edna Juanita Behimer of Kenton, Okla., in 1939 and the couple purchased a ranch in Oklahoma where they lived until returning to Quay County in 1957.
In 1966 Parker was the FFA Honorary State Farmer . In 1972 he received the New Mexico Soil Conservationalist of the Year Award and the N.M. Bankers Association award for range improvements he made.
He is survived by four children: Juanita Marie , Thomas (Charley) of Tucumcari, Patricia Nell (Patsy) Thompson (Frank) of Springer, Raymond Frank Parker (Gigi) of Tucumcari, and James Donald Parker (Becky Janice) of Keystone, Neb.; nine grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Parker was preceded in death by his son, Arthur Sanders Parker; his wife, Edna Parker; his parents; three brothers, James Otis Parker, D?Roy Parker, and Ira William Parker; two sisters, Ivy May Parker and Bertha Lee Parker, and one grandson.
Services were held Saturday, July 31, at 10 a.m. at Dunn Funeral Home with burial following at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery

At the time he signed in WWI Draft Registration card in 1917 he was living in Texas but working in New Mexico with an oil company. In 1920 he was still single and living in Gray Co., Texas.
William married Lola Smithers about 1921. Lola was born 1 on 3 Mar 1902 in Texas. She died 2 in Sep 1986 in Collingsworth Co., Texas.

Shamrock, Texas - Fred Johnson, 91, died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Quail Cemetery at Quail with the Rev. James Martindale, retired, officiating. Mr. Johnson had lived in Collingsworth County since 1911. He worked as a farmer and rancher all of his life. He married Rose Bell Peggram in 1926 at Wellington. She died in 1993. Survivors include two sons, Clifford Johnson of Amarillo and Wayne Johnson of Shamrock; a daughter, Alice Moore of Hereford; a grandson; and two greatgrandchildren.

Pegram Whitworth was an 1894 graduate of West Point. He remained in the military and retired with the rank of Brigadier General of the United States Army.
We found an article in the Fayetteville Democrat, March 10, 1911 relating to his earlier career which stated that "Capt. Pegram Whitworth is detained as depot quartermaster in Galveston, Texas in addition to his regular duties."
The Sept. 5, 1924 edition of the Washington Post has an article that says Col. Pegram Whitworth has been detailed to the University of Alabama as Professor of MIlitary Science and Tactics.
In 1930 the family was living in St. Louis, Missouri.
Pegram married Emeline Cole Smith daughter of Col. Gilbert C. Smith and Unknown on 18 Apr 1899. Emeline was born 1 on 31 Mar 1874 in New Mexico. She died on 14 Aug 1955 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California.

Roy married Dorothy Harper daughter of Eugene S. Harper and Minnie. Dorothy was born 1 on 30 Jul 1909 in Davidson Co., Tennessee. She died on 1 Apr 1995 in Naples, Collier Co., Florida.

The 1900 Census reflects that Lucretia has 5 living children.
Lucretia married James Daniel Throckmorton son of Wiliam Throgmorton and Elizabeth Drake on 22 Mar 1867 in Dyer Co., Tennessee. James was born 1, 2 on 22 Oct 1845 in Tennessee.
We have received the following information from Gary J. Throckmorton of Abilene, Texas:
...Lucretia Henrietta Price married James Daniel Throckmorton. That is partially correct. His last name at birth was Throgmorton. His father was William Throgmorton and his mother was Elizabeth Drake.
William Albion Little Throckmorton was not his father. This connection was made in error by one of my relatives who didn't have all the information necessary to determine who his parents were but census data from 1840, 1850 & 1860 show the fairly-clear relationship of William and Elizabeth (Drake) Throgmorton being his parents.
His name was changed to Throckmorton when he moved to Texas between 1870-1880.
He was my GGGrandfather and I have been doing research on him for 5 years.
We just located the grave of Lucretia (Price) Throckmorton. It is unmarked but next to her sister in Palo Pinto, TX. I am in the process of getting a marker for her grave.
