Ruth M. Hite, 88, a longtime resident of the Mound Valley area, died Monday evening, Sept. 18, 1989, at the Medicalodge at Goddard. She was born dec. 25, 1900, in Labette County to Levi and Ardia (Brillhart) Ohles. She was married to Philip Hite on Oct. 30, 1917, in Oswego. He died June 24, 1970. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mound Valley. Survivors include: a son, Bert of Wichita; a daughter, Jean Oakleaf of Hot Springs, Ark.; two sisters, Irene Traylor of Cleveland and Mable Rasmussen of Montesano, Wash.; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
