Jean Pegram Fitchette, of 204 St. Andrews Lane, Cary, died June 10, 1998, at Western Wake Hospital in Cary. She was the oldest daughter of Addie Bradshaw and Calvin Winchester Pegram, both deceased. She was the widow of Jethroe Barnes Fitchette.
Three sisters survive: Calvine P. Milam of Danville, VA, twin sisters, Sarah P. Pearson of Cary and Ann P. Edwards and her husband, Everette M. Edwards of Apex. She leaves nieces, Marcia E. Vanore of Albemarle, Evan E. Pecca of Roanoke, VA, Laura M. Keim of St. Louis, MO, Rebecca M. Wolfe and Jeane W. Wheeler, both of Charlottesville, VA, Diane P. Gill of Marietta, GA, Sara Ann P. Rives of Cary; nephews, Joseph W. Milam of Danville, VA, Calvin P. Milam of Lynchburg, VA, Dr. James T. Milam of Roanoke, VA, John Ken Pearson of Portland, OR; 11 great-nieces and nephews. Jean was a graduate of Women's College (UNC at Greensboro) in Home Economics. She at one time was a Home Economist for Harnett and Durham Counties. She served as President of Pegram's Pharmacy, Inc.
She was a devoted member of the Apex United Methodist Church and enjoyed her association with Mac- Gregor Downs Country Club. She will be remembered as a gracious southern lady who constantly thought of others with kind deeds and thoughtful remembrances.Jean married Jethro Barnes Fitchette. Jethro was born 1 on 12 Apr 1908. He died 2 on 24 Jun 1977 in Cary, Wake Co., North Carolina. 12672 F ii Calvine Pegram was born on 30 Oct 1927. 12673 F iii Ann Pegram was born on 21 May 1929. Mrs. Laura Barclay Matheson, 95, of 4523 Woodlark Lane died May 17, 1996, at Renaissance Place, Charlotte. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Matheson will be 3 p.m. Monday at Myers Park Presbyterian Church with The Reverend Ray Scott and The Reverend Joe Sutterlin officiating. Committal will be private in the First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Stanley. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3 p.m. Monday in the church parlor. Mrs. Matheson was born Oct. 12, 1901 in the Mallard Creek Community, the daughter of the late Reverend Jonas Barclay and Edna Pegram Barclay. The Reverend Jonas Barclay served as Pastor of Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church at the birth of Mrs. Matheson. Mrs. Matheson was a graduate of Montreet Anderson College and of Presbyterian School of Christian Education in 1927. Soon after graduation she married The Reverend William H. Matheson where he served as Pastor of Thomasboro Presbyterian Church, Unity Presbyterian Church and MacPelah Presbyterian and Gilwood Presbyterian Church, both of Gaston County. Survivors include her loving daughter, Miss Alice Barclay Matheson of Charlotte; sister-in-law, Mrs. Frank H. Barclay of Johnson City, TN; niece, Mrs. Mary Peters of Merritt Island, FL; and nephew, Mr. William Caison of Atlanta, GA; and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Music Department of Myers Park Presbyterian Church, 2501 Oxford Place, Charlotte, NC 28207.
Laura married Rev. William H. Matheson about 1927.

Lawrence Pegram Holland (23 Oct 1875- 11 June 1954) was the first born child of Washington Freno and Ella Eugenia Hunter Holland. His father, of English descent, mostly known as Captain Wash Holland who formed a military company in Gaston Co, known as Co. K, 4th Regt. NC State Guard. Capt. Wash was also a gifted musician and was a close friend of John Phillip Sousa, the famous band leader. Lawrence Holland's mother was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J.B. Hunter of Gaston Co. She was b. 5 Jan 1858 and died 9 May 1884. Lawrenece md ola Margaret Shuttle on 5 June 1903 in Shelby NC. They had 3 ch: Esther Eugenia b 8 Aug 1905; Violet Irene b 25 Oct 1910 died ` Jun 1912; and Lawrence Pegram Jr. b 17 Jul 1914.
Lawrence married Ola Suttle daughter of Charles Beattie "Bate" Suttle and Esther Jane Wray on 8 Jun 1903. Ola was born 1 on 29 Aug 1882 in Shelby, Cleveland Co., North Carolina. She died on 22 Jul 1966. She was buried in Shamrock Sunset Cemetery, Cleveland Co., North Carolina.
