Mr. Barham farmed as a young man and also did carpenter work and in 1942 he entered the U.S. Army, stationed in Louisiana, Austria, and France. He served in the Catus Division of General Patton's Third Army, and returned in 1945. He was also a member of Faith Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one brother, R. B. Barham; and his parents, Marcus LaFayette and Brookise Smith Barham. He is survived by his wife, Ora Lea Kelley Barham; one daughter Brenda Moore of Finger; one sister, Eura Mae Hardin of Adamsville; two grandchildren, Brigit Turner of Finger and Jessica Huckaby of Henderson; and one gr-grandchild, Hunter Turner of Finger. Funeral services for Mr. Barham were held at 1 p.m. on Fri. July 13 at Casey Chapel. Burial followed at First Baptist Cemetery in Chester County.

Her obituary which appeared in the Greensboro News Record on December 6, 1996 reads in part as follows:

Mrs. Carrie Pegram Morris, 90, a resident of Britthaven of Kernersville, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 1996, at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pierce Funeral Home Chapel, by the Rev. J.D. Morris, III and the Rev. Louis Hill. burial will follow in the Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Morris was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lucy Needham of Kernersville; two sons, J.D. Morris of Oak Ridge, and Robert F. Morris of Kernersville; half-sister, Mrs. Hattie Barrow of Kernersville; half-brother, Vance Pegram of Danbury; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Carrie married John D. Morris son of John H. Morris and Lucie Unknown. John was born ¹ in 1903 in North Carolina.

In 1930, the couple were living with with John H. Morris, father of John D. Morris, in Oak Ridge, Guilford Co., North Carolina.

They had the following children:

He was born Aug. 19, 1926, to the late John D. and Carrie Pegram Morris of Kernersville. He graduated from Summerfield High School and attended the Oak Ridge Military Academy in Oak Ride. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Morris was an insurance agent for Pilot Life Insurance Co. and Charlotte Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. before he retired. He was also a newspaper carrier with the Greensboro Daily News and the Winston-Salem Journal. He was a member of the Beth Haven Baptist Church in Denver, N.C. Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his son, the Rev. J.D. Morris who was the pastor of the Beth Haven Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marie Williard Morris of Iron Station; a daughter, Sheri M. Bumgardner and her husband Jeff of Mount Holly; two grand-children, Jeffrey and Lauren Bumgardner of Mount Holly; a daughter-in-law, Sonya P. Morris of Denver, N.C.; a sister, Lucy M. Needham of Kernersville; and a brother, Bob Morris of Walkertown.
				John married Marie Williard.
