In 1860 the family is found in Whiteville Township, Jefferson Co., Arkansas. They must have moved to Arkansas between 1855 and 1858 since only the youngest child on the 1860 census, Harmon Lee, was born in Arkansas.
Jesse enlisted in Co. K, 18th Arkansas Infantry, at Pine Bluff, Arkansas, February 22, 1862; appointed second corporal, June 13, 1862; wounded at Corinth, Mississippi, October 4, 1862; promoted first corporal; absent on sick furlough; no further information; filed Federal land patents in Jefferson county in 1860 and 1861.

We only found the name of her first husband, John Henry Branson, from the death certificate of her daughter, Elizabeth Jane Branson Johnson.
She was already a widow in 1860 and living next to her aunt, Parthenia Thomason and brother Isaiah. In 1870 she had remarried and her three children by her first marriage were living in the home. In 1880, she is again a widow. Only James Cook and John Cook remain in her home. Living next door is William D. Branson, age 25, with his family. This is no doubt her son who married Elizabeth Pegram. Next to William D. Branson is the family of James Pegram and wife, Malinda.
In 1900 she and her son James are boarders in the home of John H. Cook who is probably a relative of her late husband Aaron Cook. The 1900 Census reflects she has had 5 children, all living.

Elizabeth married J F Johnson.
Martha married (2) Aaron Cook son of John Cook and Unknown in 1860/1870. Aaron was born 1 in 1809 in Guilford Co., North Carolina. He died in 1879 in Guilford Co., North Carolina.
In 1860 he was living near Elisha Pegram. In the home was Frances Cook, age 14, so apparently he had been married previously and was widowed like Martha Jane.

In 1860, he is found living with Fleming Thomason and his wife, Parthenia Pegram Thomason.
Isaiah's tombstone inscription reads: "Confederate soldier, private citizen, he answered when duty called and was faithful in all things."
Isaiah married Rachael Jane Brittain daughter of John Moore Brittain and Millicent Trueblood on 30 Dec 1869 in Guilford Co., North Carolina. Rachael was born 1, 2 on 8 Jun 1850 in Guilford Co., North Carolina. She died on 15 Mar 1940 in Guilford Co., North Carolina. She was buried in Methodist Memorial Cemetery.
The cemetery is now owned by Fairview Primitive Baptist Church. Her tombstone inscription reads: "A devoted mother, a good neighbor and friend to all".

His obituary from a newspaper clipping with the date of Dec. 7, 1970, reads in part:
"Arthur F. Pegram, 910 Constitution St., a retired railroad employee and farmer and a residence all Emporia since 1947, died Sunday evening in Newman Memorial County Hospital.
Mr. Pegram, whose parents were the late Thomas E. and Sarah McMichael Pegram, was born September 30th 1883 McNairy, Tennessee and he was reared in the Virgil community. He was preceded in debt by three brothers and four sisters and he is survived by several nieces and nephews including Mrs. Carol (Opel) Cunningham and Mrs. Erwin W. (Thelma) Gile..."3585 F vi Carrie Demarris Pegram was born on 10 Dec 1888. 3586 M vii Floyd J. Pegram was born on 10 Dec 1888 in Virgil, Greenwood Co., Kansas. He died 1 on 5 Jan 1898 in Virgil, Greenwood Co., Kansas.
Cause of death of was diphtheria.

The 1910 Census shows the couple have been married for 55 years. Annie has had 7 children with 4 living. Mary, John and Nancy are all still single, living in the home. Also in the home is Estha G. McMichael, age 18 who is identified as a grand-daughter.
James married Annie Elizabeth Gates 1 daughter of Charles Gates and Nannie O. Mustin in Forsyth Co., North Carolina. Annie was born 2, 3, 4 on 19 Jan 1826 in Rockingham Co., North Carolina. She died 5 on 13 Mar 1917 in Guilford Co., North Carolina.
They had the following children:
