Ella Allison Mumford, a homemaker, died Sunday at a Bedford hospital. She was 84. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Hurst Christian Church, where she was a member. Burial will be in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville.
Mrs. Mumford was born in Manor and had lived in Hurst for eight years. She was a former resident of the Tyler area for 20 years. She was the widow of Neal F. Mumford, who died in 1983. Survivors: Two sons, Neal Dean Mumford of Hughes Springs and John William Mumford of Tempe, Ariz.; daughter, Marilyn Mumford Adams of Hurst; two sisters, Agnes Glazner of Grand Prairie and Margaret Ewing of Hayward, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

William M. Fishback, 75, of Jacksonville died Saturday evening at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville. He was born April 4, 1918, in Carrollton, the son of Fred and Beulah Pegram Fishback. He married Virginia Thompson in 1947 and she died in 1988. He then married Frances Mehl in 1992 in Jacksonville. Also preceding him in death were his brother and sister. Mr. Fishback had been personnel director for the State Department of Public Aid and retired in 1977. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, Prairie Council on Aging in Jacksonville and past president of Illinois Welfare Association. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received a Silver and Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Surviving are his wife, Frances; son, Martin Fishback of Jacksonville; daughter, Sue Fishback of Jacksonville; stepson, K.B. Mehl of Florissant, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Joe (Marilyn) Longmeyer of Freeport and Mrs. Randy (Mary) Colliver of Springfield; and seven grandchildren.
William married Virginia Thompson in 1947 in Illinois. Virginia died in 1988.
