Her obituary reads in part:
"Kernersville — Dorothy Pegram Freeman, 77, passed away Monday June 6, 2005, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory by Brother Royden Combs.
She was born May 3, 1928, in Rockingham County the oldest of 11 children to the late Clinton Odell and Annie Wren Perdew Pegram. Mrs. Freeman retired as a quality control specialist from Burlington Socks of Kernersville, (a division of Burlington Industries). She was a member of Belews Creek Baptist Church, where she served as the secretary and treasurer for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duff Gordon Freeman and son James Kenneth Freeman, a brother, Bill Pegram and two sisters, Ruby Latham and Pat Rhymes.
Surviving are her children, Barbara Freeman Idol and husband Roger of Kernersville, Norman Gordon Freeman of Kernersville and Charles Wayne Freeman and wife Diane of Florida; five grandchildren, Sonia, Karen, Lauren and Deric of Kernersville and Tyler of Florida; three sisters, Zora Hemrick, Gracie Combs and Geneva Tucker; four brothers, Richard Pegram, Odell Pegram Jr., Dan Pegram and Don Pegram, all of the greater Triad; also many beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews."
Dorothy married Duff Gordon Freeman. Duff was born 1, 2 on 13 Jul 1922. He died 3 in Jul 1986 in Kernersville, Forsyth Co., North Carolina.
He enlisted to serve in WWII on the 22 of June 1944.
