There are 3 children at home and one grand-daughter, Eller S., age 11. We find George living close by but find no other Rascoe families in the area that we can identify as possible children. It is possible the 2 other living children are females who have married.
On the 1850 census of Hyde Co., North Carolina, he is living in the household of Gibbs Hall, age 26, along with Rachel Hall, age 39, John M. Midyette age15 and Dameron Hall, age 2.

The obituary for John C. (Johnnie) Pegram which appeared in the Washington Daily News in Washington, Beaufort Co., NC reads:
Johnnie Pegram, age 90 years, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home, 221 Telfair Street, at 9 o'clock this morning while sawing wood. Mr. Pegram was born in Hyde County, June 22 1865, and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the St. Claire Christian Church of Ransomville He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Cora Midyette of this city 14 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the grave side in the Baptist Church Cemetery in Ransomville, conducted by the Rev. Purnell Gallop, his pastor. Interment will be in the Baptist Cemetery. (10 Oct 1955).
