Mildred Pegram Efird, 79, of the 400 block of King St., died Feb. 10, 1999, in a Portsmouth hospital. A native of Belews Creek, N.C., she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the widow of Nolan P. Efird. Survivors include two sons, Wayne and Joel Efird of Portsmouth; two sisters, Marjie Marshall of Belews Creek, N.C., and Dorothy Peterson of Florida; five grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Philip J. Parker. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.
