Charles Edward Delancey, 84, of 1215 Morgan Dr. died Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, at VA Hospital, Durham. Graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday in the Gunn Family Cemetery with Military Rites. A native of Reidsville, he was a son of the late Charles Issac and Alma Lasley Delancey and had lived in Reidsville his entire life. He was a retired employee of the American Tobacco Co. and a member of Reidsville Christian Church. He was a World War II Army veteran, a member of American Legion Post 79 and the Disabled American Veterans. Surviving are wife, Mamie Miller Delancey of the home; one son, Charles Michael Delancey and wife, Patsy C. Delancey of Greensboro; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Charles married (1) Vergie Lee Massey. Vergie was born in Aug 1916. She died on 30 Dec 1965.
