KERNERSVILLE: Mr. Roy Wilson Landreth, 81 of 2191 Piney Grove Road died Sunday, Nov. 26, 1995, at his home. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pine Grove United Methodist Church by Rev. David Duncan and Rev. Derry Barnhardt. Burial will be Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. Mr. Landreth was born in Forsyth County, the son of the late Wesley Eugene and Elma Lasley Landreth and was a member of the Pine Grove United Methodist Church and the Piedmont Saddle Club. He was a retiree of Western Electric Co. and a member of the Pioneer Club. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Plaster Landreth of the home, daughter, Mrs. Joyce L. Moore of Winston-Salem; son, Doug Landreth of Greensboro; sisters, Mrs. Lillian Duggins of Walkertown and Mrs. Eulla Tuttle of Pinnacle; brother, Ralph Landreth of Walkertown; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Roy married Evelyn Plaster.

Alvis Hunter Miller, 85, formerly of 1108 Larkwood Drive died Saturday, April 17, 1999, at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 19, 1999 at Reidsville Christian Church. Burial will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. Mr. Miller was a son of the late Samuel Thomas Miller and Lillian Claudia Lasley Miller. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II and a retiree of American Tobacco Company after 44 years of service. He was an active member of the Reidsville Christian Church, where he served as an elder, teacher and superintendent of the Sunday school class. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mable Shelton Miller. He is survived by his daughters, Donna Miller Manley and Paula Miller Fitzpatrick of Clinton; brother, Everette Warren Miller of Reidsville; grandsons, Hunter Johnson Manley of Graham, Texas and Christopher Donald Manley of Kenansville.
