Ernestine S. Parcell, 85, of Rich Creek, Va., passed away Saturday September 9, 2006 at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek. Born March 25, 1921 at Bear Spring, Va. she was the daughter of the late Kyle and Sadie Kirk Stafford. Mrs. Parcell was a homemaker and member of the First United Methodist Church, Rich Creek, Va. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Parcell, one daughter, Therry Ann Parcell, eight brothers and sisters. Survivors include two sons, Gerald S. "Jerry" Parcell and wife, Brenda of Pearisburg, Va., Tony Parcell and wife Cheryl of Radford, Va.; one daughter, Pamela Lucas of Maynardville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Neil and Jill Parcell, Michelle and Rob Irving, Karla Bowden, Ashley McCowen, Megan, Paul, and Wesley Parcell; three great-grandchildren, Blair, Andrew, and Alyssa. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday September 12, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church, Rich Creek, VA., with Rev. Aubrey Whitlow officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Rich Creek, Va. Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday September 11, 2006 at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, Peterstown, W.Va., and at the church one hour prior to services. Clayton Eldridge Parcell Sr., Last Marine Raider, 86, of Staffordsville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at the Salem V.A. Medical Center. He was born September 6, 1921, at Crumpler, W.Va., the son of the late Albert Wesley and Elsie Vernon Hamblin Parcell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn "Pat" Patterson Parcell; five brothers, Carl, Garland, John, Irvin and Hersel Parcell; and two sisters, Irene P. Dodson and Frankie P. Whittaker. He was a Marine veteran of World War II, a retired employee of the Celanese Corporation and a member of the Narrows American Legion Post #68 and the VFW Post #6000. He is survived by one son, Clayton "Corky" Parcell Jr., of Pearisburg; one daughter, Olivia Reed and husband, Darrell, of Radford; one sister, Argie P. Spangler, of Pearisburg; four grandchildren, Shawn Parcell Capozzi and husband, Lee, of Riner, Corey Shannon Reed and wife, Tanoe of Roanoke, Natashia Reed, of Roanoke, and Chelsea Reed, of Radford; five great-grandchildren, Ashley and Adriel Reed, of Draper, Royce Foley, of Roanoke, Isabella Capozzi, of Riner, and Christopher Reed, of Bluefield, W.Va.; and special friend from V.A.
