In 1910 Frances is found living with a son by her first marriage and next to her daughter, Fmily Etta King.
He received a pension for his Civil War service and is listed on the 1909 pension list for Bland Co., Va.

In 1860 John Henry is found with his first wife, Elizabeth J., living in Fayette Co., Virginia (now West Virginia). We have not yet found a marriage record for John Henry and his first wife. It is thought she might have been related to the Fortner family. When Willie Jane Pegram was between 10 and 12 years old, she went to live with another family member related to the Fortner family. This was the link that resulted her meeting William Winston Fortner who she eventually married.

She had a brother named Maddison Allen Bogle who was killed in the battle of Princeton during the Civil War.
Her grandfather was John Bogle, Sr. the son of her emmigrant ancestor, James Bogle who first settled in present day Bland Co., Virginia about 1789.
Her marriage record shows she was age 23 in 1862.

In 1900 she was still single, living in Hammond, Louisiana where he was working as a teacher.
We have recently learned that he went to Boston University which still holds a copy of his thesis written in 1899. Apparently he received a degree in theology. At some point he must have gotten additional training because in 1920 he is found living in Mason, Iowa and his occupation is shown as Chiropractor.George married Nellie. Nellie was born 1 about 1885 in Indiana. 3693 F v Emily Smith Pegram was born 1, 2 on 4 May 1871 in Bland Co., Virginia. She died on 10 Feb 1949.
The 1880 Census is in conflict with her birth record in Bland Co.3694 F vi Sarah Elisabeth (Sallie) Pegram was born 1, 2 on 11 Sep 1874 in Bland Co., Virginia. She died in Aug 1902. 3695 F vii Daisy Deen Pegram was born on 15 Jan 1876. 3696 F viii Mamie Pegram was born in 1878. She died before 1880 in West Virginia.
She doed no appear on the 1880 Census.
George married (3) Rebecca Ann "Annie" Bragg daughter of Harris Bragg and Ruth Hughart. Rebecca was born 1, 2 on 3 Jul 1864. She died on 5 Sep 1944.
Apparently George and Annie were divorced shortly after the birth of Lawrence since she is found in 1910 as the wife of Richard N. Coleman. The 1910 Census shows the couple have been married for 7 years. Annie shows that she has had 7 children, all living. This agrees with what we have found since she and George Nash Pegram had 6 children and there was a daughter, Hallie Coleman, in the home at the time of the 1910 Census.
The 1900 Missoui Soundex give the year of birth as 1869.

He died in Jul 1969 in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio.
In 1920 he was single, living in a boarding house. He was employed as a coal miner.

1085. Elizabeth (Betsy) Jane Pegram 1 (George , John , George , Daniel , Daniel , George ) was born 2 in Mar 1838 in Guilford Co., North Carolina. She died in 1910 in West Virginia.
IGI lists her name as Elizabeth Pegoum. The 1880 Census clearly has errors since she is listed as widow but her last name is given as Matheny. All children are also listed with the last name Matheny but family records indicate the five younger children were from a second marriage to John C. Jobe. In 1900 she is found living with her son, Samuel Jobe in Parkersburg, Wood Co., West Virginia. The Census shows she has had 10 children with 9 living which agrees with records previously furnished by family members.
The 1900 Census incorrectly shows her place of birth as Ohio.
Elizabeth married (1) Daniel R. Matheney 1 son of William Matheney and Jane Grim on 29 Dec 1856 in Giles Co., Virginia. Daniel was born 2, 3 in 1827 in Bath Co., Virginia. He died in 1871.

Pinkney married (2) Eviline about 1869 in West Virginia. Eviline was born 1, 2 in Feb 1843 in Virginia.
In 1870, Eveline (Eviline) and her daughter are found living in the home of John Shepherd but Pinkney is not in the home. Also in the home is John C. Jobe, age 60, who later married Elizabeth Pegram, sister of Pinkney N. Pegram.

Dee Ann MIller, a descendant of Achilles Hodge says that family records give his birthdate as 1808 and that he died at age 104. However, MOST other records seem to support that he was born between 1824 and 1834. In 1850 he is shown as age 16, still at home with his siblings and father in Franklin Co. In 1860 he is shown as HH, age 31, in Franklin Co., Virginia. To make matters more confusing, the 1870 Census shows him to be 50 years old. However, the 1910 Census does appear to show his age as 96.
