1090. Martin Jackson Pegram 1 (George , John , George , Daniel , Daniel , George ) was born 2, 3, 4 in Sep 1849 in Guilford Co., North Carolina.
The 1880 Census shows he was born in West Virginia but his parents were still in Guilford Co., North Carolina and did not arrive in West Virginia until much later. For some reason, the 1900 Census shows that he was born in Georgia but we know his parents did not leave North Carolina until after the 1850 Census and by 1860 they are in Virginia.
The 1900 Census shows the couple have been married for 23 years. They have had 8 children, all still living in the home but family records have always included a Lucy Pegram who died as a small child.
Living in the home at the time of the 1900 Census is George Pegram, brother of Martin J.
It should be noted that the place of birth for Martin J. on the 1900 Census is in error. There is no evidence that the family was ever in Georgia.
Martin married Lucinda Fisher about 1877 in West Virginia. Lucinda was born 1, 2 in Feb 1858 in West Virginia.
They had the following children:

At the time of the 1860 Census, William C. Pegram is listed as head of household Living with him are his siblings, John, Jesse, Daniel and Rhoda.
William married (1) Asenith (Sena) Debo on 22 Dec 1859 in Guilford Co., North Carolina. Asenith was born 1, 2 about 1837 in Virginia. She died before 1875.
Her name is Aceruth on the 1860 Census.
They had the following children:

William married 1 (2) Mary A. Goolsby daughter of Edward Goolsby and Jane Fagg on 27 Jun 1875 in Rockingham Co., North Carolina. Mary was born 2, 3, 4 in Aug 1838 in North Carolina. She died in 1920.
Her parents are taken from her marriage license in Rockinham Co., North Carolina.

This is the record of the members of this family who are buried at Eakins Cemetery in Ponder, Denton Co., TX. The Cemetery is located in west Denton Co. located off Eakins Cemetery Road between Hwy. 380 and FM 407. It would appear that H. J. is a grandson of Daniel and wife Louzetta but we have no more information at this time.

The 1900 Census shows the couple have been married for 11 years. Martha shows she has had 6 children, all living. The 1900 census incorrectly shows Elijah Walker Pegram as a son-in-law and Sallie M. Pegram and Mattie W. Pegram as daughters-in-law when they should have been shown as step-children of Martin McMichael since they are Martha's children by Alfred Walker To confuse matters more, the 1910 Census shows a daughter, Nonie, age 21 in the home. Martha still shows that she has had 6 children with 4 living. We are showing Nonie as found on the 1910 Census but it would appear that either the 1900 or 1910 Census has an error.

In 1870 he is found living with his father, Archibald McMichael where he is identified as Martin McMichael. On the 1860 Census he is found living with his father Archibald McMichael and wife Lucy Pegam Michael where he is identified as Joseph M.
His death certificate in 1924 identifies his father as Archibald McMichael.

In 1850, his father had remarried and he was living with his grandfather, William Pegram.
His Will dated Sept. 1, 1892 and probated at October Court 1892 names only W. Henry Harris and Pinky Harris. The Will was witnessed by G. B. Riggan.
Presley married Louisa H. Riggan daughter of Littleton F. Riggan and Rebecca Shearin on 7 Feb 1857 in Warren Co., North Carolina. Louisa was born 1, 2 about 1835 in Warren Co., North Carolina.
She is shown as Susan H. on the 1850 census of Warren Co., North Carolina. She apparently died between the time of the 1880 Census and 1892 when Presley executed his Will.
They had the following children:

By 1900 they Robert and Martha are living with their son-in-law Robert Bottom and his wife Mattie. The 1900 Census reflects the couple have been married for 40 years. They have had 6 children with 2 living.
They had the following children:
3764 M i John Robert Pegram was born in Feb 1868. He died in 1942. 3765 M ii William Walter Pegram was born 1, 2 in 1870 in Warren Co., North Carolina. He died 3 before 1900.
According to the 1900 Census of Warren Co., Martha had 3 children with 2 living. This indicates that William is now deceased since we know John and Mattie are still living.William married 1 Polly P. Ellis on 13 Jan 1897 in Warren Co., North Carolina. Polly was born about 1880. 3766 F iii Mattie Lee (Mollie) Pegram was born on 3 Jul 1876. She died on 30 Jan 1950.
1110. Lucy Pegram (Allen , William , George , Daniel , Daniel , George ) was born 1, 2 in 1841 in Warren Co., North Carolina. She died 3 in 1888 in Warren Co., North Carolina.
The 1850 census shows her age as 10 while the 1880 Census gives her age as 37.
Her husband remarried in 1888.
Lucy married 3 Gardner Early Shearin 1, 2 son of Seth Shearin and Mary Pike on 29 Mar 1859 in Warren Co., North Carolina. Gardner was born 4, 5 in Oct 1838 in Warren Co., North Carolina. He died on 28 Jan 1901.
According to pension application, Gardner Early served during Civil War in Co. B, 30th Regiment, NC Infantry.
The birthdate is from the 1900 Census. The 1880 Census gives his age as 45.
They had the following children:

Angelina married 1 James B Lancaster son of William C, (Will) Lancaster and Mary E. Kimball on 14 Jan 1867. James was born 2, 3, 4, 5 in Dec 1842 in Warren Co., North Carolina.
At the time of the 1920 Census, James was living with his son, William R. (Willis) Lancaster.
They had the following children:
