Sadie Pegram Rice, 89, of 1614 Rice Road, Reidsville, died Friday, Oct. 10, 1997, at her home.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Camp Springs United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charles Litzenberger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A native of Rockingham County, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Rebecca Brincefield Pegram and had lived in the Cherry Grove Community of Caswell County most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Camp Springs United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Women's Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen N. Rice; a daughter, Betty R. Cobb; and a grandson, Mark Smith. Surviving are four daughters, Martha R. Hamlett, Kathleen R. Aldridge and Janice R. Vernon, all of Yanceyville, and Grey R. Smith of Elon College; 14 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Citty Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
Sadie married Stephen Norman Rice son of George D. Rice and Cora L. Vincent. Stephen was born 1 on 7 Nov 1904 in North Carolina. He died 2 on 24 Nov 1990.

Luola Friddle Pegram passed through the gates of heaven on March 19, 2004. She was 85 years old. Mrs. Pegram suffered from Alzheimer's and has been a resident of John Knox Manor nursing home in Montgomery, Ala. for the past several years.
Mrs. Pegram spent her youth on a farm in Stokesdale. There she met James J. Pegram at a nearby farm and they were married in 1936 and soon after moved to Greensboro.They were both faithful and active members of the Salvation Army. Mrs. Pegram worked at the Salvation Army for many years in the social service programs. She was a witness in word and deed for Jesus Christ. Her life was dedicated to others. Her husband, James was promoted to glory in 1974.
She is survived by son, Barry W. Pegram and daughter-in-law, Joyce (Reagan) of Perdido Key, Fla.; daughter, Judy Pegram Falin and son-in-law, John Falin of Baltimore, Md.; and son, David Pegram and daughter-in-law, Ellen (Reaves) of Prattville, Ala.; grandchildren, Lisa Falin Harper and husband, Ron of Wilmore, Ky.; and great-grandchildren, Taylor and Nathan, John David Falin and wife, Melanie; and great-grandchildren, Kaleigh and Ali of Houston, Texas, Melissa Pegram Farley and husband, Jim of Suwanee, Ga., Laurel Pegram of Madison, Wis., Paige Pegram Barnette and husband, Tony of Fairhope, Ala., and Jamie Lynn Pegram of Mobile, Ala.; brother, George Norman Friddle and wife, Faye of Kernersville; and sister, Charity Ballard of Montgomery, Ala.; brother-in-law, Gilbert Clapp of McLeansville. Also surviving brother-in-law, Wesley Long Pegram (Minnie); sisters-in-law, Jewel Pegram, Daisy Pegram, Mamie Tucker and Mary Clayton (Giles).

A Guilford County native, Mrs. Williams was born on January 10, 1927, the daughter of the late Alfred Edward and Josie Hutchins Pegram. She was a member of Stokesdale Christian Church, was active in the Stokesdale Senior Citizens, and Church Women's Group. She volunteered for Hospice and carried Meals-on-Wheels. She loved painting and crafts. She was retired from Bluebell/Fieldcrest in the shipping office.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Solomon Pegram and Anderson Carter Pegram and daughter, Linda Susan Williams.
Surviving are her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, Robert Graham Williams of the home; children, Larry Graham Williams and his wife, Cindy, Henry Williams and his wife, Wendy, Roger Williams, and Bonnie Williams and her husband, Woody, all of Stokesdale; sister, Mary Lester of Summerfield; grandchildren, Sherry Lamb, David Williams, Lee Williams, Nicole Skelding, Ashley Ayers, Autumn Williams and great grandchildren, Joshua Lamb, Grayson Lamb, Logan Williams, Gavin Williams, Taylor Williams, Tyler Williams, Kameron Bullard and Mason Skelding.Viola married 1 Robert Graham Williams on 16 Feb 1946 in Guilford Co., North Carolina. 15432 M iv Anderson Carter Pegram was born 1, 2 on 23 Jul 1928 in Guilford Co., North Carolina.
