Cunningham, 70, of Farley Hill, Raleigh County, died Dec. 10, 1997, at the home of her daughter, Deloris Valentin of Rochester, N. Y., after a long illness. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Also surviving: sons, Patrick of Beckley, Larry of Coal City, Kenneth of North Carolina; brothers, Toby Pegram of Coal City, Pete Via of Farley Hill; sisters, Icie Wills of True, Pauline Wills of Farley Hill; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Farley Hill Cemetery.

James "Jerry" Pegram was born June 28, 1939 at Jon Ben, WV. He was raised on the farm and was the baby that we all adored. He was a cute little boy with big eyes, very quiet and carried his cat around in his mother's old purse. He was grandad's shadow and followed him everywhere. He was a happy little boy. He was a wonderful son, good to his mother, is a loving husband, proud father and grandfather. He always loved outd000r activities, hunting and fishing. He took grandad fishing at New River near Indian Creek once and grandad told him that his people came from around there.
James graduated from Trap Hill High School and married his high school sweetheart. He worked for thirty eight years in construction and maintenance in the coal industry, retiring from Consolidated Coal Co., Inc., as Superintendent of surface mining.
He and Lillie live an active retired life. James is a Harley-Davidson enthusiast Parents of two.James married Lillie Blaylock daughter of Samuel Blaylock and Laura Clay on 12 Sep 1959.

Lewisville - Mrs. Alma Davis Pegram Ridings of Ridings Road died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born July 30, 1908, in Davidson County to James L. and Martha Parish Davis. She moved to Forsyth County in 1914 and graduated from local schools. She first married Alvin Pegram Jan. 26, 1925. Mr. Pegram died Jan. 27, 1942. She married Walter A. Ridings Sr. July 17, 1948. Mr. Ridings passed away Feb. 1, 1983. Mrs. Ridings was an LPN and did private-duty nursing; she also worked at the old City Memorial Hospital before she married Mr. Ridings. She was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church and the Spiritual Life Sunday school class. She was a member of the Shallowford Senior Citizens Club and the Sharon Home Extension Club. Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy Pegram Spaugh of Winston-Salem; three sons, Robert A. Pegram of Greensboro, James C. Pegram of Tobaccoville and Jack G. Ridings of Lewisville; a stepson, Troy Ridings of Lewisville; three stepdaughters, Mary Doub of Pfafftown, Louise Motsinger and Kathaleen Fry of Lewisville; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a number of stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Jessie Davis of East Bend. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel, by the Rev. Gary Ferrell and the Rev. David Cook. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
