17584. Rev. Alvin Jarvis Pegram (Paul Jarvis , Mickley Jarvis , Clinton John , Elizabeth W. , George , Edward , Daniel , Daniel , George ) was born 1 on 26 Jul 1930 in Guilford Co., North Carolina.

Alvin married 1 Ada M. Moore daughter of Patrick Moore and Grace Angel on 24 Dec 1949 in Guilford Co., North Carolina. Ada was born on 25 Mar 1931 in Rockingham Co., North Carolina. She died on 25 May 2006.

Her obituary from the Winston-Salem Journal, June 22, 2006, reads in part as follows:

STOKESDALE - Mrs. Marylene Moore Pegram, 75, died Thursday May 25, 2006, at Heritage at Towne Center in Harrisburg. A Rockingham County native, Mrs. Pegram was born on March 25, 1931, the daughter of the late Patrick and Grace Angel Moore. She was a member of Living Waters Baptist Church. On Dec. 24, 1949, she married the Rev. Alvin J. Pegram, and she served her Lord as a pastor's wife for 40 years. Mrs. Pegram is survived by her husband of 56 years, the Rev. Alvin Pegram, formerly of Greensboro; daughters Vivian Angel and her husband, Harold, and Rebecca Goldsmith, both of Thomasville; son Randy Pegram and his wife, Edwina, of Charlotte; brothers James Moore and his wife, Melinda, of Stokesdale, Bobby Moore and his wife, Dare, of North Wilkesboro and Gerald Moore and his wife, Judy, of Lexington, S.C.; sisters Essie Peoples and her husband, Don, of Stokesdale, Juanita Pegram and her husband, Paul. of Walkertown, Linda Pegram and her husband, Richard, of Winston-Salem and Patricia Chrismon and her husband, Tom, of Browns Summit; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Vernon Moore. Mrs. Pegram's funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 28, at Oak Level Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mark Walters and the Rev. Jimmy Dillon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

His obituary reads in part:

Dennis James Pegram, 50, of 101 Thompson Road, husband of Ina Carson Pegram, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 29, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Ina Carson Pegram; nine children ranging in age from 26 to 6, Joanie, Joshua, Audrey Beth, Bryce, Alana, Clark-Everett, Ethan, Lorin, and Ariana, all of the home; his parents, Joseph N. Pegram and Norma J. Smith, of Carlisle, Iowa; two brothers and a sister, Ben and Dan Pegram and Helen Burkhart, all of Des Moines, Iowa.

A native of Carlisle, Iowa, Dennis graduated from Bob Jones University in 1977 with a degree in Business Administration and subsequently served on the staff at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Va., as business manager. He returned to BJU where he earned a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration and Supervision.

Dennis was named to Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities and recently to Who's Who in Religion. For the past 25 years, he served as financial administrator of Hampton Park Baptist Church in Greenville, S.C.

He was a past-president of the Palmetto Chapter of the National Association of Church Business Administrators and served on the Appalachian Council of Government's Education Advisory Committee.

Dennis married Ina Carson.
