Washington, NC-Daniel Francis (Frankie) Dewald, 35 of Route 2, a minister, died Aug. 31, 1900 in a hospital.Mr. DeWald was born in Norfolk, VA and was a graduate of Great Bridge High School. He attended Roanoke Bible School and received a Master of Divinity in Theology degree from the Cincinnati Bible Seminary. He served in a youth ministry at the Plymouth, NC Church of Christ; as minister at the Oak Grove Church of Christ in Pitt Co., NC; in a youth ministry at Maysville, KY; as minister at the Cary, NC Christian Church; and as minister at the Statesville, N C Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Aino James DeWald; two daughters, Erin Michelle DeWald and Leia Megan DeWald, both of Washington, NC; a son, Jonathan Daniel DeWald of Washington, NC; his mother, Edna McKinney DeWald of Victoria, VA; his father Daniel Francis DeWald of Elizabeth City, NC; and four brothers, David E DeWald of Hertford, NC, Brian L DeWald of Butler, Tennessee, Barry A DeWald of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Timothy A DeWald of Winfall, NC.
The funeral was conducted at 2:00 PM Monday in the Woodard's Pond Church of Christ by Dan Monnahan and Rick Warford. Burial was in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. August 31, 1991.

GATES - James Jerry Perkins, 50, a native of Chesapeake, Va., died October 31, 2004.
A celebration of life service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at Parr Funeral Home by the Rev. David Dillon. Interment will be private. Friends may join the family for a time of fellowship one hour prior to the service and other times at the residence.
Perkins was a self-employed master mechanic, specializing in trucks and heavy equipment.
Survivors include his wife, Amy Jo Perkins of Gates; sons, Bradley J. and Matt E. Perkins, both of Gates; mother, Mamie L. Perkins; and a brother, John E. Perkins Jr.
